Gobble Gobble.

Ah, Thanksgiving.  We had a pretty good one this year.  Rick and I don't have family in the NoVa area and the last few years it has just been the two of us (with the addition of Ricky last year) for dinner.  I have made dinner, I have ordered dinner, but it's still not the same as the big, noisy Thanksgivings I have always had with my family.  We are loud and there are lots of us and someone gets in a fight over something stupid but it is what it is.  Not that I haven't loved the intimate Thanksgivings we have had together, it has been nice.   But now that we have Ricky I want to start some family traditions for him.

We headed out to Casa Redden to enjoy the day with the crew.  Jessica is always such an amazing hostess and Ricky has such a great time playing with their kids.  When I say playing I mean running in circles around the house just because it has space to roam.  Once we had dinner ready for the kids, Ricky dove right in.  After he finished off his, he grabbed his spoon and went around the table snaking mashed & sweet potatoes from the other kids plates.  I think he even snatched a piece of grilled cheese.  Turkey was delightful, stuffing was delish, sweet potatoes were amazing, but I think the gravy just perfected it all!  (Can you tell I made the gravy?)

Oh - and the Cowboys won.  I don't think it could have gotten any better than that!

So on to Christmas - which I am so utterly and completely NOT prepared for.  Ugh.
