Wow. Just wow. Life has certainly changed over the past year. I guess I never really knew just how much.
He is amazing in every way. He gives love so freely. He has such a wonderful spirit. It is rare that something actually bothers him. Every day Rick and I thank God because we know how truly blessed and fortunate we are. He falls down, gets right back up. He bangs his head, gets right back up. He eats whatever you put in front of him, for the most part at least. He plays quietly, then he plays not so quietly. He chases the girls at daycare because, well, it’s fun. It is one of the cutest things when I see them run off screaming “No Ricky!” and he just runs after them. Correct that, he walks quickly. He isn’t at the full running stage yet.
We have been taken over by toys and binkies and itty bitty socks. And baby gates. I hope to get the third one up this weekend. Laundry is never ending. Dishes are never ending. Diapers are never ending. Paying for daycare seems never ending. But even after all of that, when I collapse in bed at the end of the day, I would do it all over again. In a minute. I can’t imagine life without him.
My heart still melts when he lifts his arms up to me. He wants ME! Mommy! Never in my life has one person truly needed me. It is really an amazing feeling.
And last night. He kissed me. Twice. I swooned to the point of almost melting.
Have I said this is amazing? Yeah, it really is.
