Pending Membership to the BHC

That's the Big Head Club to you folks who aren't in the know.

Ricky has a big head, of course to hold his big brain. I mentioned it here. Doc also measured my head and I had to measure Rick's head. Depending on where our heads fall in the adult head circumference charts, we might just qualify as "Officially Big Headed". Speaking of, if anyone can find an adult head circumference chart, please send it my way, I can only find the one for infants & toddlers to age 36 months. Anyhow, I figure this is definitely the case as I have always had a problem finding sunglasses and headbands that fit. Rick never wears hats as they end up on the very end of the the little adjusting snaps. We're big headed - and I'm not talking egos.

Until we have an official BHC ruling, here are the latest stats:

Weight: 21lbs 90th percentile
Length: 27 3/8" 70th percentile (I think)
Head: 18 1/2" 95th percentile

Developmentally he is doing great. You smile, he smiles. You tickle, he giggles/screeches/squeaks, whatever. He is rolling here and there - more "there" especially if there is a toy/book/binky over "there". When he sees something he wants, he definitely knows how to get it. It looks like I might be feeding him a bit much - he really only needs 24-30 ounces a day. I have been fretting over this but since he is still gaining weight like nobody's business, I'm going to go with the flow. He is also sitting up like a pro, making all sorts of silly sounds, reaching for EVERYTHING. He totally gets that the remote makes Baby Einstein come on. He also loves to snuggle with his Ocean Wonders seahorse. This is probably the best purchase I have made to date for him.

Ugh, all this head talk has given me a headache.

Lastly - if anyone could tell me why I'm blogging at 10:45 pm when I should be folding laundry and going to bed, I would love to know.

Welcome to the world of mommies with sons in the BHC. =)

My son Christian has a huge noggin. It always measures in the 100th percentile or higher. We even had a CT scan done last year to make sure nothing was wrong.

As for hats. . .don't worry. Before long he'll refuse to keep one on anyway. =)
