I went back to Ohio this weekend for a baby shower. One of my bestest friends, Andi, hosted a baby shower for me and surely she couldn't have done it without the help of her close friend Sarah. Man, do I owe these gals big time!
I am 26 weeks now and I know this is a little early for a shower normally, but there is no way I was making the drive to Ohio any later in my pregnancy. I had enough problems as it was sitting in the car that long. With all my potty stops and the snow/fog, the drive took at least an extra 60-90 minutes each way. Fortunately, Pookie was with me to keep me entertained and I would never drive that far alone while pregnant. Heck, I don't want to drive that far when I'm NOT pregnant. I'm definitely not 20 anymore and these long roadtrips aren't as easy as they used to be.
Let's just say I was AMAZED at everyone. Thank you for all your love and for taking the time to come celebrate with me! We are so lucky. We received soooooooo many beautiful items and I can't wait to use them, especially the Ohio State stuff come football season! Old friends I hadn't seen in years came together with my family and my extended families for the first time ever. I liked this more than my wedding reception. I had my mom, sisters, nieces and grandmother (who's almost 90!), Andi & her mom, my BFF Kelli all the way from Vegas with her family, some longtime family friends....it was just wonderful to be surrounded by so many people that have been such a big part of my life.
I am so lucky to have Kelli and Andi. I have basically been a fixture in both of these households (sometimes moreso than in my own house!) since 7th grade. I look forward to getting older and sharing even more of my life with them. Surely they couldn't possibly know the impact they have had on my life and how much I love and cherish them. It is just so comforting and wonderful to know that no matter what, I have someone I can go to with any problem, regardless of how near or far. And I do have to admit....having a best friend in Vegas is pretty neat. I could go on like this all night as I was honestly overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone. Thank you to everyone!
Unfortunately, I don't have pictures. I forgot the SD card for my camera and the ones in the internal memory are trapped until I find the cord. Andi's niece took tons of pics, but they are being burned on a CD and have yet to be shipped. I will post a slideshow eventually.
Overall, the shower was great. Tons of fun and tons of love with tons of gifts to boot. I couldn't have asked for a better evening. We played just a couple of games, the hit seemed to be the one where they cut the yarn and guess the size of your belly. The only person that came in a couple inches less than actual size was my mom. As for the rest of you who must have thought we were wrapping that thing around me twice......don't think I don't know remember who you are.
