Decisions, Decisions.....

I was watching the Today Show yesterday. Ok, not really watching as much as I was listening to it with my eyes half open and a baby snoozing on my chest.

I didn't catch the whole story and now I'm kinda kicking myself because I can't find the link for the story and I didn't think to DVR it at the time. Anyway, I digress. The jist of it was the unnecessary stress that decision making places upon people, especially women. We have so many decisions to make every day that basically we are imposing more stress upon ourselves by adding even more option to our lives. After all, don't we all love all of the choices we have? We have to decide what to wear, what route to take to work, what to eat and so on. Those are necessary decisions. But the one example that she said just resonated with me and I can't get it out of my head. She suggested that we have only ONE purse.

I'm convinced this woman is on crack.

In theory this is supposed to eliminate one of those unnecessary daily choices we have to make. If we have only one handbag, then we know what we will carry today. She's out of her ever loving mind. I don't recall what her name was but if I see her on the street, I swear I will smack her.

So what am I supposed to do with all of these? I don't even have my current handbag in this pic, Let alone my current diaper bag, or the new diaper bag that I just ordered yesterday. As all mom's know, the diaper bag replaces the purse. Other than a couple of the Coach bags - maybe 2 of them as I am a huge fan of the Coach Outlet Store - every single bag was purchased on sale or given to me after it was gently used by a friend (thank you Tati!!!). Some were as little as $3. Nobody in the world can tell me they would pass up a Liz Claiborne purse for $3. I bought two - natural & black.
For the most part these sit in the closet. But I love knowing that I have the choice and I do go to the closet and pull out another handbag depending on the day. Heck, I even sold like five at a yard sale last summer. A few of these are totes so they don't really fall into the purse category. Whatever I have to tell myself...right?

Girl.
I've got nine DIAPER bags. I don't even want to enter into the world of purses. Vera Bradley has me wrapped around her little finger... Soo... you're right, that woman was on crack.

I agree! I have too many purses to count and most of them are Vera Bradley, as I too, am wrapped around her little finger - in fact my Mother's Day gift is a new VB. I have a few Coach and two Brighton. I have one son and five diaper bags - that woman is CRAZY. I LOVE my purses!!!!
